Japanese Security Guard's quick thinking rewarded by Base commander

Naoto Uema, a member of the Japanese Security Guard Battalion, which provides security at the gates of Marine installations around Okinawa, receives an award from BGen. Gary H. Hughey, commanding general of Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedley D. Butler. Uema's quick actions the night of the hit-and-run accident which caused the death of Yuki Uema led to apprehension of the suspect and a quick resolution of the criminal investigation. Uema was accompanied at the award ceremony by his JSG battalion commander and his company commander.
