For weight loss or weight gain there isnít a magical number that you should try and make a guess at. A 180 pound woman should never be assigned a 1,200 calorie diet without an OK from a physician. Your calorie intake should be based on your BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate). This will include your body fat percentage, activity factor and your weight. The 180 pound woman would have a minimum calorie consumption of 1767. If she intakes less than the minimum, her body will go into a mild nutritional shock (trainersí speak). The body will get food from somewhere. In this case from the wrong source. Make your choices wisely, itís your body.
