Okinawa businesses gearing for Industrial FairDate Posted: 1998-10-18 At the fair, the participating companies showcase everything from robotics to new sources of energy, to awamori and food. Over 210,000 people are expected to attend and enjoy bargain sales of products, free drink and food samples, and to just ponder over what the prefecture’s businesses can churn out. Besides product displays, there are plenty of food and drink, and a stage featuring local entertainment. The fairgrounds are open from 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Organizers strongly suggest that festival goers leave their cars home because parking in the area is non-existent. The festival grounds are only a five-minute walk from the Naha bus Terminal. U.S. military members may be able to park inside the Naha Military Port, but those who drive are well advised to resist free samples of awamori and other alcoholic beverages also offered at the fair. |
