Jeffrey Osborne concert performance-R&B singer Monica scheduledBy: Jerry (DJ Parlay) Anderson III Date Posted: 1999-03-02 At about 10:00pm Jeffery Osborne took center stage. His first song, We Party Hearty appropriately set the mood for the evening. He went on to do a medley of his hits and even performed my favorite song Concentrate On You, and a special acoustic version of On The Wings Of Love. Venturing into the crowd, Jeffrey playfully baited random attendees to Woo Woo Woo, as he ended the show with his trademark song You Should Be Mine. The chant's from the crowd chanting "We want Jeffrey, We want Jeffrey", prompted the singer to return to the stage and perform an encore. Following the concert, Mr. Osborne signed autographs and posed for pictures. If you missed the Jeffrey Osborne concert, here's your chance to make it up. Miss Thang- Monica will perform live March 6 at the Okinawa Civic Center Park. This teenage R&B sensation has had nothing but #1 singles since her debut in 95', including this year's double-platinum #1 hit single The Boy Is Mine, the duet with teen R&B singer Brandy. Her debut album, Miss Thang, was an immediate smash, with a combination of ballads and some of the phattest Hip-Hop flavored jams, Monica wooed both critics and fans. Currently her sophomore CD, also entitled The Boy Is Mine is riding high on Billboards R&B and Pop charts. This CD displays a maturer Monica singing mostly ballads and mid-tempo songs. At the time of this publication, she is still holding down the number one single in the U.S., Angel Of Mine. That said, this concert should be another guaranteed winner. Tickets are 4000 yen each and can be purchased at ACTV on Camp Foster and Kadena's Schilling Recreation Center. This week's CD pick is none other than Arista Recording artist Monica. As previously mentioned her latest effort, The Boy Is Mine shows no sign's of slowing down. Standout singles worth checking for: The First Night, Cross The Room, Gone Be Fine and her renditions of Richard Marx's, Right Here Waiting and Dorothy Moore's classic, Misty Blue. That's everything on the menu for this week. Until next week, feed the ear hole lightly, ya' heard.
