Golfers test their skills at fund raiserDate Posted: 1998-07-30 Although no one was able to claim the $27,750 Ford Explorer the Ford Motor Company had put up for those who managed to ace a hole-in-one on holes 4 or 12, there were plenty of other prizes to win. Steve Pauli, a Marine MWR dependent won a round trip, economy class flight ticket from Naha to Noumea, Caledonia. The ticket, valued at 3,200 was donated by Continental Micronesia. Other winners included low gross winners Mike Saraceno (72), Phil Chilson (73), Mike Jackson (75) and Tony Shaw (77). Net winners were Tama Manu (69), Paul Rickoff (71), Gary Reid (71) and Sandy Teeter (71). Patrick Antell and Paul Rickoff won a night’s stay at YYY Ie Resort. "The donated prizes from Continental, Ford Motor Company, YYY Ie Resort and AT&T enabled us to have a very successful event," MSgt Saraceno representing the organizers said. He also thanked the tournament director Mike Plummer, MSgt Fred Moore and MSgt Mike Reeves for playing key roles in coordinating what many labeled the best golfing event of the year. |
