Takahara Restaurant

The Takahara Restaurant & Bar Lounge has two great locations in Takahara-Okinawa City and Kitanakagusuku-Son. The Okinawa-City location has a two-story facility with a wonderful picturesque view of the city below and the vast blue ocean. While the Kitanaka-Gusaka-Son location has a one story operation with an equally breathe taking view. Takahara translated in English means hill top that is exactly where both locations are positioned, hence the spectacular view. The restaurant serves a special Japanese Teriyaki grill style cuisine. However, they also prepare an array of Italian, Chinese, and French dishes. Their entrees consist of a wide variety of meats such as sushi, chicken, beef, and pork. You can even have pizza if you like. Tempt your taste buds with their savory appetizers including pizza, noodles, fondue, and sushi.

They have an extensive wine and spirit menu. If you are looking for Awamori sake your search has come to an end. Both the lounge and the restaurant have Koshu Awamori that are either 10, 13, and 20 years old. The menu is reasonably priced ranging from ¥280 for chicken, to ¥1,500 for the chef recommended house specialty shish-kebab. The shish-kebab is a grilled savory treat. It includes a variety of meats such as chicken, chicken hearts, duck, Osura egg wrapped with bacon, and chicken skin.

The cozy intimate atmosphere is conducive of a romantic interlude. You can virtually drink the panoramic view, quaint dimly lit interior and smooth jazz music that sets the tone and ambiance. The atmosphere alone is rather intoxicating.

The Takahara-Okinawa City location offers a cozy bar setting located on the first floor level and the restaurant is conveniently positioned on the second floor. During the busy hours of the restaurant you can relax in the bar lounge and chat with a friend. While the Kitanaka-Gusaka-son location offers a somewhat larger one floor combination restaurant bar-lounge area.

Both locations have free parking available and are opened daily from 6 p.m. - 1 a.m. So if you are looking for a casual spot to relax, unwind or just chit chat with a friend, Takahara would be a wonderful alternative.
