Assaults at schools reported in Ishigaki

In the months of April and June, two separate assault cases were reported at junior high schools in Ishigaki City. The most recent incident occurred on June 12 when a freshman was asked to meet a group of older students at a nearby beach. When he arrived, the group assaulted him. The 12-year-old boy sustained injuries and recovered after a period of two weeks.

On April 22, a sophomore at a junior high school was asked to meet a group of 20 older students at a cemetery. The 13-year-old boy arrived and was forced to fight with another student. When he protested, four older children attacked him. The boy spent one week recovering from his injuries.
