Police, educators, civic groups ponder youth delinquency

Date Posted: 1998-06-27

A civic conference was held at Ishikawa City Hall last Friday to discuss ways to prevent children from loitering at night as well as keeping them safe and protecting them from crime.

Ishikawa City's Police, Preventing Crime Association, Promoting the Youth Growth Association, and Board of Education helped sponsor the conference, a community reaction to the attempted kidnapping of a junior high school girl earlier this month in Ishikawa City.

The head of the executive committee for the conference, said "We have to make our best efforts to prevent these types of crime." The Chief of Ishikawa City Police, Kishimoto, helped explain the progress of the criminal investigation and told participants, "We're expecting to identify the driver soon."
