Italian Sokudo Restaurant

Date Posted: 1998-04-05

While on Okinawa, I often craved for romantic elegance accompanied by Italian cuisine. In my search for these specifications, I happened across a gem in the ruff. Italian Sokudo, an Italian restaurant located just outside of Kadena Air Base Gate 1, brings Italy to Okinawa. The quaint cozy atmosphere is just the ticket for a romantic interlude. Italian Sokudo recently opened, so everyone may not know that this great little hideaway can be found in the building that use to be a Pachinco parlor. Italian Sokudo is opened from 5 p.m. - 4 a.m. nightly.

The restaurant's chef received his training in Tokyo where he specialized in Italian cuisine. There are several menus available with both sets and individual meals offered. Choose from pizza, pasta, antipasti and the like. I highly recommend their house red wine as it had a special flavor unlike most house wines I've tasted. They also have an excellent selection of wines but my personal favorite is the house red. Prices are very reasonable and there is even free parking available directly outside of the establishment.

If you're planning on that special romantic occasion and you want to go some place that is new than check out Italian Sokudo.
