On a personal note

Thought of working out lately? I recently began a 12- week Physique Transformation Challenge that has forever altered my life. Due to the profound changes I have undergone in such a short time I felt compelled to share these experiences with you.

I am a 26 year old wife and mother who was just going through each day as it came. I was not unhappy with my life but I hadn't been working toward achieving any of my personal goals either. I began this program with one objective in mind, to improve my body. In doing so I completely changed every aspect of my life. I felt for the first time that my days had a purpose, not to mention that I felt terrific. In just 6 short weeks I dropped my body fat by 4.5% and gained 6 lbs. of muscle. The pounds of muscle I have gained however, cannot compare to the pounds of self confidence. I was your typical military wife with two children, very much the same as you, sweating it up in the free weight area of the gym. I know your first reaction is "I don't want to go into that area of the gym". Well neither did I. It was very intimidating at first, but I quickly learned what I needed to know. My first few workouts were with my husband. This not only made it easier but it was time well spent together.

I have since started going on my lunch hour and find this to be one of the best parts of my day. It is a nice break from work and helps me stay focused throughout the remainder of the day. If there is one reason that I am writing this article, it is to inspire you. You will in turn be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. You will be a better you. You don't have to go to the gym for 3 hours a night. One day do 20-40 minutes of cardiovascular activity and the next go lift some weights. Go three days a week, It's as simple as that, and you will see yourself creating a new body and mind before you know it. It is important to have a well rounded workout. Include weight training and cardio. If you are completely new at the weight training regimen, ask for help. That's why the gym's staff is there. They would gladly help create a workout that would fit into your lifestyle and time factors. I cannot express enough how much you will grow to love this personal time.

We are all busy in our lives but the excuse that we don't have time is just that, an excuse. It's all in what we choose to make a priority in our life. Healthy living has become a priority for me. I once read a quote by an unknown author, it read as follows:

"Those who do not make time for exercise when they are young, will have to make time for illness when they are old." (Author Unknown)

I know now that the rest of my days on this earth will be spent living healthy and working out. My children will benefit by having a healthy, strong mother. This challenge encouraged me to change my body but in doing so I learned to take control of all my future endeavors. With a newly established self-confidence I have found myself stepping out and trying things I once would have only dreamed of doing. I registered with a local modeling agency and was offered a job in a commercial. Do this for yourself and just see what good things happen for you. If I have inspired just one person to workout, this will have been well worth my time.
