Drowning victim found in Yomitan

A beachcomber walking near the East China Sea shore in Yomitan Village discovered the body of a man in the sea, Saturday.

According to police, a woman searching for shells saw a body floating 600 meters from shore and called an ambulance. The paramedics retrieved the body which the police identified as Jishei Tsuha, 64. According to Mr. Tsuha's family members, he had left home early Saturday morning to find octopi and did not return at his usual time. The family began to worry near the same time that Mr. Tsuha's body was found. Police found no evidence of outside injuries on the body and it is believed his death was caused by an accidental drowning, but the case is still under investigation.
