Mysterious cylinder washes to beachDate Posted: 1998-03-27 According to local officials, the 1.8 m long container was found by a camper who called the police. The cylinder had a label stating in several languages that it contained dangerous toxic substance. The local police contacted the Japanese Self Defense Force who is planning to take custody of the cylinder which for now remains in the Taketomi Village Office for safekeeping. |
