Heroes' Banquet Set

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Branch 1149, Okinawa Chapter, will host a Heroes' Banquet on April 25, at the Butler Officers Club. This year the branch will honor 12 individuals from the local community that dedicated work and accomplishments set them apart as outstanding sterling citizens and Ambassadors of Excellence in our community. The twelve categories of honor are: Education, Civil/Human Rights, Military Excellence, Organizational Excellence, Business Enterprise/Entrepreneur, Community Service, Fine/Performing Arts, Spiritual, Athletics/Fitness, Cultural Creativity, Student Scholastic Achievement, and Health-Care.

The community Heroes' Award Banquet offers an opportunity to publicly acknowledge the enormous contributions and sacrifice made by unselfish, everyday people.

Nominations can be made for individuals that are worthy of this distinguished award. Nominees must meet eligibility criteria and submitted by completing the heroes award nomination package. Award packages must be submitted to the selection committee no later than 13 April. Winners will be announced at the banquet.
