Free Car Care Program

Date Posted: 1998-02-28

A new program, Car Care Because we Care, helps spouses avoid car trouble when their significant other is away by performing safety inspections on their car free of charge.

To participate in this Air Force Aid Society sponsored program, the dependent's spouse must be deployed for more than 30 days. Eligible dependents should bring a copy of their spouse's orders to the Kadena Family Support Center's Air Force Aid Office located in Building 99, between Monday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Air Force Aid Officer will issue a voucher entitling the spouse to one free safety inspection and oil change if required. Auto inspections are scheduled by calling 634-1126 or stopping by the Kadena Auto Skills Center at building 1436. Inspections take approximately one hour. The auto skills center will perform a safety inspection on the vehicle along with an oil change. They will top off any fluids and identify any areas requiring repair or attention on the vehicle. There is no charge for this service. Payment will be made by the Air Force Aid Society. For more information on this program, call 634-3366.
