Ferry passenger missing

A passenger was noticed missing when a ferry from Osaka arrived at Naha Port, Monday. According to authorities, officers of the ship noticed that one person less disembarked the ferry than had gone on board when it left Osaka. The ship's captain immediately contacted the 11th Maritime Safety Agency officials to report a missing person and look for the missing passenger.

Officials suspect that the passenger fell overboard before the ship arrived at the port and called the authorities. The MSA lauched a search with an airplane and four coast guard vessels.

The ferry carrying cargo and passengers had left Osaka Saturday and arrived at Naha port Monday morning. Officials on the ferry are unsure of where or when the missinbg man left the ship. His identity is also unknown. He is described as a male of dark complexion, 40-50 of age, about 160 cm tall, weighing about 60 kg, and wearing a dark blue jacket and a cap. Anyone knowing anything about the missing man, is asked to contact the nearest police station.
