Boat capsizes, man drowns

A fisherman found a body floating near a beach in Gima, Nakazato Village, Monday. An ambulance was called to the scene and the body was taken to the hospital, but the man was announced dead upon arrival. The body was identified as Haruo Sakimura, a 58 year old farmer.

According to Naha City police, Sakimura had taken his boat out late Sunday evening in order to go fishing. His body was found near the capsized boat the next morning. Police believe that Sakimura was involved in some type of accident and drowned after the boat capsized.
