LINKS Site Leaders

Date Posted: 1998-02-14

The Marine Corps Family Team Building Program is currently looking for three volunteer Site Leaders to be responsible for leading the LINKS Program at the three sites on Okinawa. The three sites are South Island (Camps Kinser and MCAS Futenma), Central (Camp Foster and Kadena Air Base) and North Island (Camps Courtney, McTureous, Hansen, and Schwab).

These are gratuitous volunteer positions that will provide the occupants with the opportunity to make a real contribution here in Okinawa. They will aid the process of helping families understand the role of their sponsors in the military and also help families integrate to the unique, challenging, but rewarding culture of life in a forward deployed overseas environment.

Specific responsibilities will include to ensure LINKs sessions are presented on a regular basis at the responsible site, coordinating and recruiting volunteers for mentor and other program positions, leading the team of volunteers at the responsible site, and reporting activities and needs to the Okinawa MCFTB Program Coordinator.

Site Leaders will be selected from interested applicants by the MCFTB Advisory Board for Okinawa. Those interested should contact Mrs. Hadley Owens, Okinawa Coordinator, at 622-9284 or submit an application to their local Base Chaplain Marked MCFTB Site Leader Okinawa. Applications must be received by 27 Feb. For more information contact Mrs. Owens or the Camp Butler Chaplain's Office at 645-2501.
