Jobless family man held for serial theft

Date Posted: 2001-12-27

Ginowan police on Friday arrested an unemployed man on suspicion of committing a series of thefts from offices and shops in Ginowan City over the last six months, local new sources say. The man has reportedly confessed to the charge. According to the police investigation, the 38-year-old man allegedly stole cash as well as cameras, laptop computers and various other items that were later pawned for money from local business establishments beginning in June. Authorities arrested him last month at the scene of a crime. Although jobless since November of last year, the man had been pretending to go to work every day, deceiving his family both about his employment status as well as to the origin of goods brought home from “work.” He reportedly said he had needed money for his family.
