Okinawa International Choir brings holiday spirit

Date Posted: 2001-12-20

Get into the holiday spirit while listening to some acapella Christmas carols sung by the Okinawa International Choir. The group will perform on Friday, December 21 on the second floor of the Plaza House Shopping Center. The concert is free and open to the general public, and choir director George Navinger hopes to pull a good crowd. “We invite everyone to come out and get into the Christmas spirit while listening to our music,” he says. “I hope to see a good crowd. If you’re interested in getting into the holiday spirit, I hope you’ll come.”

The Okinawa International Choir is made up of American, Japanese, and one Mexican singer. The group will be singing 12 or thirteen Christmas carols in 4 party harmony acapella. The choir usually holds concerts during the Christmas season and during Spring. As the director of the group, George Navinger says the choir is a hobby and a passion for him. Whether you are an avid fan of acapella Christmas carols or just hoping to grab a bit of that holiday cheer during your last few days of Christmas shopping, be sure to check out the Okinawa International Choir at the Plaza Shopping Center.
