It's time again for another spectacular event at Dance Club Matsushita! On Dec. 28 Mongoloid: Asian Future Music 2001 will kick off at 9:00 p.m., featuring renowned Japanese DJs Krush and Hide, as well as music groups Hirekatsu, Cinema Dub Monks, Asiatic Eyes and DJs Viva and Hinga Higa, and VJ Hell Boy. This event is organized by Bump Entertainment, the same crew that organized a good majority of Okinawa's largest events at the legendary club Bump, which was once where Be Green is currently situated on Kokusai Street in the heart of Naha City. Admission to the event is 3,000 in advance and 4,000 at the door. Tickets are currently on sale at Tower Records, Star Bow, Get Happy Records, Freeek-Show, Sam Goody, Book Box and Vinyl Masic. For more information call Bump Entertainment at 098-942-8765 or click on www.bump-ent.com.

Born in 1962, DJ Krush has been well received in the international clubbing scene, as has his sound. He is known as the first DJ to use turntables as live instruments, as he does when he has freestyle sessions with musicians on stage. His debut album "Krush" (1994) placed him on the global scene, and since then he has been working internationally as a producer, remixer, DJ and recording artist. In 1998 Krush formed a production unit called Ryu with DJs Hide and Sake, and he released his sixth album, "Zen," on Jan. 24, 2001. Come witness the talent of this trio firsthand at this month's Mongoloid party. For more information on DJ Krush and his crew, check out www.mmjp.or.jp/sus/krush/.

The Cinema Dub Monks are a very talented trio of Okinawan musicians who could very well be seen as musical mad scientists, mixing every sound imaginable or discoverable into their sets. Often psychedelic to the point of chaotic, the group bends all rules of music before bringing you back to normal scales and melodies, and then they pull you right back into their twisted yet beautiful musical world. Influenced by just about every single genre of music, this trio uses many instruments and effects to push your mind over the boundaries of music. Once you've seen this group perform, you'll see how much more to music there is than just pentatonic scales and melodies. Chaos is often beautiful in its own way.

This event will surely be a showcase of some of the most talented musicians of every genre in Japan. You'll be amazed! You'll be astounded! And more than that, it'll be fun! You won't want to miss this event!
