Supplementary budget, new laws proposed to assembly

The Prefectural Assembly on Nov. 30 convened its regular December session, which will run for three weeks until Dec. 20. Attending the opening was Governor Keiichi Inamine, who outlined 47 proposals for consideration, including a 16.2 billion supplementary budget for the current year. The supplementary budget plan includes in its provisions the creation of job opportunities for tour guides and fees to be used for mad cow disease inspection. In addition, an ordinance regulating telephone dating services and another proposal raising tuition for public high schools are to be debated.
