Gourmet Town is hip, young hangoutDate Posted: 2001-11-21 Actually, these guys are participating in a special mask party held at Gourmet Town on Sunday. At the party, men were required to wear a mask the whole time, and men and women were able to talk without inhibitions because the women could not recognize the masked men. While many other bars and clubs use similar tactics and events to bring in a crowd, Gourmet Town frequently comes up with new, original ideas. As a Christmas special, they will hold a “Jyan-Ken-Pon”, or rock-paper-scissors, event. When you go up to the bar to buy a drink, you will play rock-paper-scissors game against the bartender, and if you win your drink is on the house. This event will be held on December 23-25. Also, every Thursday, Gourmet Town sells all drinks for ¥100. Gourmet Town owner Ricky Matsuyama is always coming up with new ideas of interest to entertain his customers and keep them coming back for more. Located near the giant Ferris wheel in Mihama, outdoor bar Gourmet Town is a very modern, cool spot to drop by with a few friends for a drink or two. It is also a great spot to bring a date for a casual night on the town. Aside from great drinks, Gourmet Town has more than 200 items to choose from several different food menus, regular specials, unique events, and quality service. Whether you’re looking for a plate of hot, spicy tacos, a steak sandwich, or a dish of gyoza, you’ll find it at Gourmet Town. If you’re looking for a hearty meal, you won’t be disappointed. They serve many types of meals including Japanese, Mexican, BBQ, pasta, salads, and more. The facility is broken up into several individual restaurants. Mexican Tacos de Riki serves two-piece tacos for ¥500, taco rice for ¥600, and chili gumbo for ¥750. An assortment of salads sells for between ¥390 and ¥420. At BBQ Heaven, you can order Cajun fried chicken for ¥1,150, a steak sandwich for ¥550, BBQ chicken for ¥770, hot wings for ¥580, and much more. A variety of pastas sell between ¥600 and ¥700. A few months ago, the bar added an extension — a large indoor room with water running down windows like rain. There are several wooden picnic tables capable of seating six people each. This room is very cool and inviting and has a young, modern feel. It is also helpful in beating the chilly weather during the year end holiday season. Gourmet Town is located across the large Jusco parking lot and the 7-Plex theater in Mihama. For more information call Gourmet Town at 098-936-9306. |
