ElectricKingdom Japan Tour 01Date Posted: 2001-11-15  Organized by Bump Entertainment, the party promises to be very professional and is a way of suggesting new things in hopes of drawing more people into the electronic music scene. The members started touring in October, beginning in Tel Aviv, Israel, and then went on to play at nine locations in Europe before hitting the Japan stretch. The ElectricKingdom kicks off at 9 p.m., and tickets are ¥3,000 in advance or ¥4,000 at the door. In spite of the somewhat high price of the tickets, the event will be well worth every penny for dance music enthusiasts. The party will feature four of the world’s elite DJs including Tasaka, Westbam/MR.Y, Afrika Islam/MR.Y, and Lexy, as well as an electro act by MR.X&MR.Y. Tasaka is a well known DJ in Japan who spins a mix of disco, minimal, and electro. He is a resident DJ at Takkyu Ishino’s Club Loopa in Tokyo and is highly regarded in Tokyo’s club scene for launching his own parties including DAEN, Disco Twins, Troop, and D-Park. Westbam/MR.Y is the organizer of Low Spirit Recordings in Berlin, Germany, and is also an organizer of the Mayday indoor rave. His name, projects, and label occupy top positions in absolutely every section of Raveline magazine. Together with Afrika Islam/MR.X, the two combine in a musical act called MR.X&MR.Y. Lexy is another talented DJ making an appearance throughout the night. According to a review on Mayday’s Datapop website, “Grooving to Lexy’s sounds is always good for a surprise, hard to predict, and always a thrill. Mathematically speaking: Techno multiplied by House divided by Elektro.” These four talented DJs are considered some of the most talented in the world dance music scene.
