To frustrated fanBy: Broderick Morris Date Posted: 2001-10-25 I've been the CEO of Positive Productions for the past eight years. We have done many shows for the bases including: Erykah Badu, 98 Degrees, K-Ci & JoJo, Usher, Roots, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, L.L. Cool J, Coolio and Boyz to Men just to name a few, but 95% of our business is in the Japanese community. Positive Productions loves everyone so I must explain to the people that don't know. It is up to the USO, MWR's, 18th Services MCCS, etc. to decide if they want to do a free show or not, not the artists promoter or artists. Everyone has different budgets. On behalfof Destiny's Child, they've done nothing wrong. They received a U.S. State Department travel advisory letter on October 7 basically advising them not to travel at this time. What does that have to do with patriotism? Just because they're concerned about not only their lives, but the safety of their crew, dancers, band, the fans in Australia, Japan and Europe, they are not patriots. Let's be realistic here. As far as the well-liked Japanese TV show, Smap Smap that you watched on October 15th, did you know that show was recorded on June 24th, 2001. This is called a promotional set-up for the Japan Tour, which was postponed. For example, 10/18/2001 show in Osaka is now 5/8/2002, 10/19 and 10/20/2001 shows were scheduled for Yokohama Arena is rescheduled to 5/10 and 5/11/2002, and 10/21 in Okinawa is now 5/7/2002 in Chatan, Mihama with more info coming soon. Destiny's Child will be on island for two or three days before the show to be with the fans. By the way, the UK doesn't have to be aware, they knew already and every organization had no problem with it and have already re-scheduled dates. Again, they postponed their world tour, not just Okinawa. |
