Drag Queen HalloweenDate Posted: 2001-10-25  In October 2000, the first “Excellent!!” party was held at the legendary Club Bump on Kokusai Street in Naha. It was extremely popular with both foreigners and locals alike! The talent of the DJs was not the only asset to make this party popular or out of the ordinary. This party included Drag Queens! After the first “Excellent!!” party, Bump threw two more parties under the same name, achieving widespread success and pulling more than 400 people to each party. The last “Excellent!!” party pulled close to 700 fans! After almost a year, the “Excellent!!” party is back in town. The venue this time it is going to be Club Zavares. Neither Zavares' nor Pyramid's parties are actual Halloween events, but a Drag Queen ball is close enough to a costume party and always a good time! The Excellent!! 1st Anniversary Party is being held on Fri., Oct. 26 at Club Zavares in Naha Tower Bldg. in Naha City starting 9 p.m. and going on to late. The party will feature music by DJs S-Mix, Genbu, Tomo, and Kunihiro, and dancing by several drag queens. This party is definitely legendary, and will pass on the tradition of past “Excellent!!” events! Admission is ¥1,000 in advance and ¥2,000 at the door, but those who come dressed as a drag queen are admitted free! For more information, call 098-867-9690. Partygoers are urged to dress in black for this party. The Muzikcup parties have become a driving force for drag queen parties on Okinawa, and feature some of Japan's finest DJs as well as drag queens from Osaka! This is Pyramid's second Muzikcup party, following the first hugely successful event. The club is located on Hwy 330 about one kilometer south of Kadena Gate 2 Street. Taka-jun is an impressive trance DJ from Tokyo, and DJs Yo-shi, Mitsuru, and John Monroe will positively play some of the hottest trance around. The second Muzikcup party will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 p.m. to late. Tickets to the event are ¥2,500 in advance or ¥3,000 at the door including two drinks.
