Spooktacular fun galore at Halloween parties

The Halloween season is fast approaching, and with it, many great parties and events have been prepared to ensure that you and yours have a howling good time. Ghosts and goblins, skeletons and other scary beasts will all be present to help celebrate at great Halloween parties. It’s the time to get ready for some devilishly good times!

A Halloween party will be held in the Weekender Lounge on Friday, Oct. 26 starting at 8 p.m., so come out to do the monster mash and have a scary time at the Officers' Club. This event is open to all Officers' Club members ages 20 and older. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best male and female Halloween costumes. Come in your scariest outfit for a chance to win while scaring the wits out of all your friends. For more information, call the Officers’ Club at 632-6060.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, enjoy a night of fun with the family at the Kadena Youth Center. This event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be fun rides, great food and entertainment for the whole family. An adult must accompany children under the age of 9. On Oct. 27, a Halloween party is taking place at Gourmet Town in Mihama from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., and if you come in a costume and pay the $15 door charge, you can drink as much as you wish for 8 hours for only $15. Drinks include beer, cocktails, sake, and soft drinks. To reach gourmet town if you are driving from Naha on highway 58, turn left when the Camp Lester shoppette gate is on your right and take the first left. Gourmet Town will be on your left. Also, a Techno Halloween party is taking place at restaurant and club 3F in Mihama close to the Carnival Park Ferris Wheel. Brought to you by September 11th FCIL Digital Works, the party will kick off at 8 p.m. and costs ¥1,500 in advance or ¥2,000 at the door. Admission includes one drink and food. A Kid's Halloween Membership Night will be held in the Officers' Club Ballroom on Monday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will feature Fottenwopper the Clown performing close up balloon twisting. This is an extra festive membership night, and all kids will be given a special Halloween goody bag to take home! This event is open to Air Force Officers' Club members and their families only. Enjoy a spook-tacular evening at the Banyan Tree Club's Halloween Party. This party will be held on the Halloween night starting at 7 p.m. in the lounge. Join the ghouls and goblins for a night of ghostly fun! Cash prizes of $250 for the first place, $100 for the second, and $50 for the third, will be awarded to the best costumes. A Halloween Ladies Night will be held at the Kadena NCO Club starting at 9 p.m. and is giving away many great prizes. For more information, call the NCO Club at 634-0740.

Okinawa's Techno music information website GrooveSeeker is throwing a Halloween Bash on October 31 from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m! Admission is only $5, and all drinks are half-priced all night long! The party will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 3 a.m., and there will be a costume contest, so come decked out! DJs performing include Batman, Jun, and Takayuki. During the Halloween week, 18th Services will be distributing Trick or Treat Bags with a TCBY coupon to students at Kadena Elementary School, Amelia Earhart Intermediate School, Stearley Heights Elementary School, and Bob Hope Primary School, so be on the lookout!

The Busena Terrace Beach Resort in Nago is holding it's own Halloween Party on Nov. 3 and is offering a special plan for people wanting to stay in their hotel on this night. The party will be held at the outdoor event space. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the party will begin at 8 p.m. and go until 11 p.m. This special event features a live dance, costume contest, and bingo games with prizes, and you can drink as much as you wish. Tickets to the party are ¥3,000 in advance and ¥3,500 at the door, but if you take advantage of the resort's Halloween special stay plan, you will receive free tickets to the bash.
