U.S. anti-war activist holds class at local schoolDate Posted: 2001-10-25 During the class Nelson talked about his experiences in the Vietnam War, and what he saw in the terror attack in New York. He told the students, “War is cruel. Don’t be afraid and voice against violence.” He added “It is the obligation for people in democratic nations to speak up against the governments when they are trying to do something evil.” Students also asked him questions about how the ordinary people are thinking about the retaliation attack in Afghanistan, if President Bush cares about the safety of Okinawan people, and why President Bush can’t find another way to solve the problem without a war. |
