First Uchinachu Festival participant group arrives

The first group of “Uchinanchu” arrived at Okinawa on Saturday night in order to participate in the 3rd World Wide Uchinanchu Festival in Okinawa scheduled from November 1 through 4.

A total of about 3,600 Uchinanchu or Okinawans from 28 different countries are expected to participate in the festival. The first group came from Argentina with 22 members. There were many relatives and friends waiting for their arrival that was followed by a reception ceremony at the airport lobby. Most of participants will reportedly arrive on Tuesday, October 30.
