Okinawan comedian nabbed for drug useDate Posted: 2001-10-25 According to police investigation, Gakiya was questioned on suspicion of using illegal stimulants in his home in Okinawa City, and also possessing 0.37 grams of dried marijuana. According to police sources, Gakiya had been under investigation for some time as the police had received information that Gakiya, a popular television personality, had been observed hallucinating badly in public. The suspect reportedly told that he had been using stimulants since this year and had used marijuana for about ten years. Gakiya is a well-known comedian, and also performs on stage in an Okinawan play. He also was featured in a spot commercial for NHK Okinawa. NHK officials said that they would cancel the spot. |
