Date Posted: 2001-10-23

A report prepared by the Bank of the Ryukyus and published on Thursday, states that if the number of tourists to Okinawa decreases by a total of ten percent this year, the income earned by tourism would suffer a loss of 48.4 billion, and the total expense to Okinawa, including indirect impact on businesses would reach as high as 61.1 billion.
