Pref. Assembly to raise national flag

Kokichi Iramina, the chairman of the Prefectural Assembly decided on Friday to raise the Japanese flag at the assembly hall on October 15 for the first time in the history. According to the administration office, 39 prefectures out of 47 in the nation raise the flag in the assembly,

Members from opposition parties claimed that raising the flag would violate the freedom of thoughts and beliefs. Some said they could not think of any positive idea coming from this decision, as there are many different feelings towards the national flag.
