Neo Park book keeping lost

Date Posted: 2002-03-24

Neo Park, a third sector zoo and leisure facility in Nago City has faced an uncertain future for some time. A few months ago the facility laid off a large part of its staff in order to cut costs. At that time its directors claimed that the layoffs were the only way for the park to stay open.

Now a special committee set up by Nago City Assembly has found that the park has failed to keep any kind of books at least for the past year. Committee members say that there are no records on special events and several festivals that were held at the park, and that ostensibly were profitable. Several organizations had also rented the park for their own events, but there are no records of how much they paid or where the monies went.

The park’s directors also claim that they have spent their own private money to keep the facility open. The largest shareholder of the park is Nago City, and Nago Mayor Takeo Kishimoto is its president.
