Joint Patrol To Study Teenage Nightlife

Police and education workers patrolled nightlife areas popular with teenagers on Friday to study their habits. Twenty police officers and staff from the Okinawa Prefecture Education Office visited Kokusai Street in Naha and other Okinawan teenagers’ night haunts, to gather information. Many high school students who were in Karaoke boxes and game centers were told to go home by police officers

The number of teenagers who receive warnings from the police at night is three times higher in Okinawa than in mainland Japan. Okinawa is particularly known for its nightlife, compared to other prefectures.
