A drunk 41 year-old man holding a knife entered Gushikawa Police Station last Tuesday and was arrested. The man, who lives with his parents, spent the salary he had received three days earlier on sake and gambling. He went to the police station with a knife in his hand with the intention of being arrested. He told police “I am scared to go back home. My father will be angry with me. I would rather stay in the prison than go back home.” After sobering up he regretted his action, saying “I did a stupid thing.”
