Date Posted: 2001-08-09

Navy MWR will feature a Huki Lau Night at the Crow’s Nest on Friday, Aug. 24. This event is a good mix between Okinawan, Hawaiian, and American music with bands Tink Tink, Island Flavor, and the David Ralston Band bringing up the best in local entertainment.

Tink Tink, a popular local pair who sing their own upbeat pop versions of traditional Okinawan music, will perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Traditional Hawaiian dance group Island Flavor performs next, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing the sights and sounds of Hawaii to the party. Finally, popular local blues act David Ralston Band will close out the night with their dirty blues from 9 p.m. until closing.

This event will feature a mouth-watering Hawaiian meal including Kalua pork, chicken luau, Hawaiian sweet & sour spare ribs, charbroiled Mahi Mahi, fried rice, pineapple candied yams, tossed green salad, fresh pineapple, and pineapple upside down. The event will begin at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Navy MWR at 634-6924.
