Boating accident kills man

A 53-year-old man was sucked into the screw of a fishing boat while he was skin diving late afternoon on Saturday, about five hundred meters off shore in Nakijin Village. The man sustained injuries all over his body and was taken to the Nakijin Fishing Port but died shortly.

Motobu Police is investigating the incident and plans to charge the captain of the boat with professional negligence resulting in manslaughter.

The boat was on the way to give the victim and his friend a ride back to the shore when the accident occurred.
