Man goes on rampage, kills one, wounds fiveDate Posted: 2001-08-03 According to the police, the man first stabbed his parents at home about 7 p.m. The man went to the street with a knife and a sickle. There he stabbed a 49-year-old man who was jogging on his back with the sickle. Next he attacked 68-year-old Haru Shiroma stabbing and slashing her over ten times. One of the stab wounds on her back was punctured her lung and she died of loss of blood. Next, the man started chasing four children who were playing at a near-by construction site. He slashed a 11-year-old boy on the back of the head and a 5-year-old girl on the elbow. Yonabaru Police found the man standing on a near-by street without his top cloths, holding a knife, and arrested him on charges of violating the swords and gun control law. The man reportedly told the police when arrested that he had to do it in order to get rid of devils. The man’s parents, 66-year-old father and 50-year-old mother suffered serious injuries. Okinawa Prefectural Police has set up a special task force to investigate the case. The task force is scheduled to arrest the man again on charges of murder and attempted murder. |
