Family Search Okinawa hopes to reunite familiesDate Posted: 2001-07-28 When Masae Shimabukuro, the mother, met the future father of her child, he was an MP for the U.S. Military, stationed on Okinawa, Japan. She was 29 at the time. The two met right after World War II at Gushikawa City in the Kawata Area and eventually had a child, Mineko. Before long, the father was shipped out again to another war, most likely the Korean War. Little more is known about the father except for that he was an excellent father figure to Masae Shimabukuro’s two other children, Saeko, who was ten years old at the time, and Naoko, who was eight. The only other information about him is that his name sounds like “Johnx” and he came from Honolulu, Hawaii. If you know anything about this man, or if you are this man and happen to read this, please contact your daughter, Mineko Arakaki at 7-6-1 Goya, Okinawa City, Okinawa, or call her at 098-933-2468 or 090-4470-1293. |
