Man develops 50cc motorbike for cold, hot deliveries

Date Posted: 2001-06-29

Seisoku Sakae, the president of Tropical Trade Okinawa Co., a Ginowan City company which main business is to sell ice cream, has developed a 50cc motorbike that can generate enough electricity to power household electric appliances. The bike could be useful in such usage as selling and delivering cold drinks or food anywhere the bike can go.

According to Sakae, motorcycles have not been able to hold bulky appliances. Another problem has been the small capacity of the bike’s battery and generator. He designed the bike from the scratch and made it possible to secure space for necessary appliances. It cost about ¥400,000 to build the bike, but Sakae assumes that the cost could be reduced if someone would mass-produce such bikes..
