Visiting counselor urges more Okinawa-EU contactsDate Posted: 2001-06-22 At the meeting, Reuter expressed his message that European Union wants further relationships with Okinawa based on what was established last year as the result of the Okinawa G8 Summit. He also stated that the EU wants to develop more exchanges with individuals in Okinawa through establishing the Okinawa-EU Association. Responding to his statement, the vice governor replied with a positive and cooperative attitude. According to the Prefecture’s International Section, there are currently ten local cooperative associations with EU in Japan. |
