Police counsel 9-year-old in serial arson incident

Yonabaru police counseled a 9-year-old boy on March 4 regarding a string of arsons that occurred in the south of the island between January and March of this year. The boy admitted setting fire to junked cars, cardboard boxes and other items six times in total using a lighter. He was reportedly motivated by curiosity and a desire to play with fire. The boy had also received counseling last November for playing with fire.
