American Girl Scouts hosted by local troupes at Girls’ Festival

Two Girl Scout troupes in Yonabaru and Naha jointly held a Girls’ Festival on March 3 at Yonabaru Elementary School, inviting Girl Scouts from Kadena Air Base and Camp Foster to attend as well. Approximately 150 Japanese and American girls and their parents shared in the cultural exchange, dancing, making colorful Japanese dolls, dressing up in kimono and enjoying a potluck lunch. The American girls were excited about wearing kimono for the first time, and they all seemed to enjoy the novel experience.
