Retireeís cash stolen from house in Naha City

A 75-year old retired man living in Matsuo, Naha City, reported to the police Thursday that a safe containing about •10 million in cash was stolen from his house.

According to the police, the safe had been placed in a closet in the living room on the first floor of the house. They also discovered some breaking marks on the closet door. The man said he was keeping the cash temporarily in his safe in order to buy land. Investigators concluded that the culprit had to be a person who knows well about the manís business. The safe was reportedly stolen between one and three thirty in the afternoon. The victim discovered the padlock on his back door was forcibly broken.

The police believes that there are more than one thief, as the safe weighs more than forty kilograms.
