Local Firms Showcased at Vendor Fair

Date Posted: 2000-10-21

The Vendor Fair, allowing Japanese firms to show what supplies and services they have to offer U.S. government organizations, took place at Camp Butler Officers’ Club on Tuesday. It is the first of what will become an annual event. Forty vendors, including some U.S. government organizations were represented at the Fair, hosted by the Regional Contracting Office. They included engineering firms, IT equipment suppliers, printers, vehicle and heavy equipment sellers and others.

Base gates were opened to allow anyone free access to the Fair. Customers inspecting the wares were in supplies, logistics, maintenance, engineering, IT, communications, all branches of the services, DODDS employees, civilians and locals.

Several training sessions were organized at the Fair, covering areas of expertise of interest to Defense Logistics Agency personnel, procurement managers and individuals who approve open purchase requests.
