Construction of Okinawa’s new centerpiece, the Capital District in Naha between Route 330 and Route 58, is proceeding rapidly. The area, close to Kokusai street, is 214 hectares and used to be an American Military Housing area. It will contain a high school, public facilities, a housing area, apartments, video shops, and a large supermarket. A large shopping mall, Ryubo Rakuichi is going to open on October 6. There will be a Town Opening Festival on October 7.
