Sweet Tangerines, Ready for Picking

Date Posted: 2000-10-13

According to the Agriculture Association, this year’s tangerines are very sweet due to the dry weather after the typhoon. Anyone wanting to sample the fruit can come to an orchard and pick them. They are the same type of tangerines grown in Izu in mainland Japan, which are famous for their sweetness. Izu also has warm weather, although it is not tropical like Okinawa. For prospective pickers there is an information booth by the Pineapple Farm on Route 84 in Motobu. The entrance fee to the orchard is ¥250 For more information phone 0980-47-2300.
