Special Internet Exhibition at TomigusukuDate Posted: 2000-10-06 The idea of hosting the event in Okinawa is the brainchild of Taichi Sakaya, the head of Japan’s Economic Planning Agency who visited Okinawa in July. He thought that Okinawa was the last place in Japan where the setting sun of the last day of the 20th century could be seen and thus an appropriate place for the exhibition. Tomigusuku was selected as the venue as it has an easy access from the airport. Organizers expect several thousand visitors to the exhibition from outside Okinawa. |
