Coffee Shop Robbed in Ginowan City

Date Posted: 2001-04-28

Two men robbed a 24-hour comic coffee shop in Ginowan City early morning, Friday, and made away with ¥500,000 in cash. The robbers’ luck was short lived, however, as Ginowan Police arrested the two on Sunday on charges of robbery.

According to the investigation, the two men went into the shop disguised as normal customers, then threatened the clerk with a kitchen knife and locked him in the toilet. Those two men had met each other on the Internet two weeks before. They were calling each other by the nicknames they had used on the net, and apparently did not know each other’s real names. During the police questioning, both confessed the crime and said that they had problems with money.
