Both Armies Did Awful Things But Weren't Okinawans, Japanese?

Reply to Mamoru Kaneshima, since you insist on working off a total population, if you have 8000 base employees and then give each one 1 wife/husband and 1 child you have now tripled your number. I suggest on his point you buy a calculator.

Next I want to talk about YOUR LAND, used by 2 enemies but not your enemy. Weren't Okinawans, Japanese? As I recall history Okinawans were not allowed to own land until Japan took control. Under the king Okinawans were given land to use to farm and supply the kingdom with food as payment for the land use. By the time the war started there were at least 2 or 3 generations of Okinawans born as Japanese citizens. I have no doubt that thousands of Okinawans were loyal Japanese citizens who were more than willing to fight & die defending their homeland.

I don't deny that both armies in that war did awful things but I refuse to believe that NO Okinawan/Japanese citizen volunteered to fight for their emperor, country and home. Unfortunately the winners of the war and the Okinawan who could hide the best and run the fastest wrote history of that time.
