Shisa Dogs, Snowmen on Greetings Cards

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications unveiled the designs of the traditional year-end greeting cards yesterday. One of the designs features Okinawan “Shisa,” the traditional protector of Okinawan homes.

Other designs include Hokkaido snowman, and other local symbols throughout the country. The cards will be available from November. The ministry also announced that this would be the last year it will issue especially designed year-end post cards.
